I have also tried turning on without the battery in and sometimes it does the shutting on/off and sometimes it wont start at all. The laptop seems to turn on, I can hear the fans whizzing and stuff, but the screen stays blank. If it shows the bios screen, I can tilt the screen in any direction, and it will still fully boot.

I searched for solutions online so I tried Safe Mode. It is responding to nothing at all! They told me that something gone wrong during an update and this is a typical windows 8, 8.1 problem.
