Memory Upgrade Problem For Hp8440p
Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Corrupted RAM or Memory slot could be corrupted. First thing I did with it was install Windows 7 64-bit with a retail disk that I had and the product key off the bottom of the computer. I have also tried a "startup test", which does manage to complete properly, but gives me a "software error" message when it performs the memory test.

if your running 32bit windows that's the issue therehave you tried it with just the 4gb (new ram installed) without the 2gb installed to see if it works?have you tried swaping Hp Elitebook 8440p 16gb Ram I usually just restart the laptop since it starts up so quick when startup works normally (under a minute at most). it doesn't work with 8GB module (84... One of them suggested running something called "MemTest" on startup via CD, which I did try, but the laptop just restarts itself during the first pass of the memory test (and The memory configurator says this memory is a match for the 8440p. I received my 8440w today and also have the fan always on issue, even though I'm on the latest bios, and selected the option to not always have the fan on Hp Elitebook 8460p Max Ram
I don't know if it's the fastest (haven't bought corsair and done comparisons), but the fact that I never have any issues works for me.
