Sliding Scores and Excuses Over the past several years, Microsoft Security Essentials has slid in the malware detection scoring tests. I've been running a slew of home computers (includes those run by kids and wife) for a long time. Over the years, it's slid in the test results, but Microsoft argued the tests weren't meaningful. The machines are constantly overrun with rogue antivirus and rootkit infections. Check This Out

We'd like to apologize for continuing to recommend Microsoft Security Essentials for so long, in spite of the poor test results. NOTE: Just a home PC user with no work or financial ties to Microsoft whatsoever. We hadn't encountered any malware, even after performing scans with other antivirus programs to get a second opinion. It's detection rates however have been a glaring issue for some time.
