My HP 8440p Elitebook Won't Turn On Or Charge And I've Tried.
What is the word for dragging motion of a finger on a trackpad? I checked the charging cable for power with a multimeter, and it was giving what it needed. Any ideas before I have to go and spend some big bucks to get it fixed. One for sure and the other might have been blank to start with. weblink

Please be thoughtful, detailed and courteous, and be sure to adhere to our posting rules. It started as if nothing had happened. I broke the computer down and removed the AC/USB module while looking for anything that looked fried, but I don't see anything. http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Software-and-How-To-Questions/Laptop-won-t-turn-on-or-charge/td-p/3233085 When I plug the adapter in the light on the adapter goes out and sometimes can smell a burning smell from outlet on the back of the laptop.
