Both are USB wireless optical mice. In the Device Manager window, find the item or items labeled "Universal Serial Bus controllers." Open it, and double-click the first item called "USB Root Hub." In the USB Root Hub It Saved me A Couple of Bucks. I killed the process, it seemed to get better a bit, but the mouse click error appeared again. If I did not download the driver, would it start installation upon startup after uninstalling the current driver? check over here I have been running Compiz and Chrome on this system without ever needing this workaround. I also changed the settings for the USB Root Hub > Tab Power Management: Unchecked "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". If i do ctrl-alt-dlt and go to start task manager, the mouse starts working again. WARNING: Don't stop metacity/compiz commands once started or you'll be in worse situation than you were before.
