I haven't been able to get it to work since. He has a similar problem, when plugged into the mains the power light constantly blinks, rapidly, there is no sound/bleeps. UNBELIEVABLY THE GREEN LIGHT WAS SOLID, AND MY COMPUTER IS WORKING FINE…. And it was blinking at one point. PSU fan is not turning on either. One final point, the PSU fan is either inactive or the PSU has failed.
But from your description, if the switch light is solid amber, the power supply is working fine? Fixing a computer that doens't want to boot HLEP!!!! I do not want injure my mother board.
